Homeschooling in 2025 is very different. The traditional schooling of learning concepts that have no real-life application is daunting. It is painful to see our children go through sixteen to twenty years of schooling only to realize in the end that they don’t know what they want to be, and lacking life skills needed to thrive in the world. Worse, they don’t know what they are good at, or what gifts and talents they have. What they know is that they are A, B, or C students.
Learning as a family came by accidentally. We were learning a Math concept that came with our curriculum and it was all new to us. It took the entire family to figure out the concept. Then it clicked that learning can be a family routine! We started to learn as a family. From field trips turned family trips. Learning turned family game nights. Simple learning turned family talks and a lot of brainstorming.
One of the ideas the resonated is the idea of sharing our family learning by turning them into learning snippets. It is that kind wherein each family can learn together and build in life skills and character building on it. This gave birth to Homeschool Domination Learn 365. Sometimes we will call it HD Learn 365 or HD 365 or Learn 365.
When we think about learning snippets, we think about an activity that a homeschooling family can complete to learn together. Of course, 365 is the number of days in most years and it really feels good to know that there should always be an opportunity for family to learn and bond together throughout the entire year. This is the purpose of HD Learn 365.
The plan is to give learning snippets in subject that are already familiar to each child like history and social studies, science, literature and language arts, math, art and creativity, geography. Then adding other topics that maybe new to most like practical life skills, technology and programming, business and money. Then build into it life skills and character building to prepare homeschooled kids to real-world.
Study shows that engaging in several activities while still young opens up possibilities for finding gifts and talents. So this can also be a special place for you and your child to learn their gifts, and develop skills around that gift.
